Cambridge, MA: The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University appointed Sri Lanka-born American diplomat Dr. Patrick Mendis as a senior fellow of the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.

“I am indeed honored to associate with the Ash Center as I continue my teaching and research activities on Sino-American relations,” said Mendis, an alumnus of the Kennedy School.

A former American diplomat and a military professor in Japan and South Korea during the Clinton and Bush administrations, Dr. Mendis currently serves as a commissioner to the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO, an appointment by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
