Launch of Zest, Bolt models by Tata Motors in Sri Lanka

Tata Motors launched compact sedan ‘Zest’ and hatchback ‘Bolt’ in Sri Lankan market as the home-grown auto major aims to merge its position in the island nation.

The Mumbai-based company has launched the two models in corporation with Sri Lanka-based Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO).

“With the aim to deliver the best of products and services to our customers, we at Tata Motors are delighted to bring two new exciting products in the Sri Lankan market,” Tata Motors, Head International Business, Passenger Vehicles, Johnny Oommen, said in a statement.

The company expects Bolt and Zest to further reinforce its occurrence in the local market here, he added.
“These two cars, loaded with many segment-leading features, are built to global design and product standards and will appeal equally to the first time buyers as well as existing automobile owners looking for a new and exciting product,” Oommen said.
The cars will be available for sale, across the country in over 37 DIMO sales outlets from Tuesday.

Tata Motors had launched the Zest in India in August 2014 and the Bolt in January 2015, under its Horizonext strategy.
The company manufactures both Zest and Bolt at its Pune plant.
