Diploma in Law

Qualification    :   GCE (O/L)

Course Details :

Royal Institute of Colombo plays a pioneering role in extending university education in Degree and Diploma courses of the University of London. Academic direction for the EMFSS (Economics, Management, Finance and Social Science) programmes is provided by the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE). This means that LSE academics and administrative staff develop syllabuses, write subject guides, develop online learning materials, advise teaching institutions and prepare and mark examinations. University of London International Programmes students have the benefit of LSE's academic expertise, and the backing of the University of London, one of the oldest and largest universities in the UK. Successful students are awarded with diploma or degree qualifications by the University of London. These are distinct from degrees or other qualifications awarded by LSE.

We offer three Diploma qualifications at RIC: Diploma in Economics, Diploma in Social Sciences and the Diploma in Law. On successful completion of a Diploma, students can read for a related degree with further 2 years of study from University of London, at RIC.

These qualifications are for you if:

• You have the necessary qualifications to embark on a degree, but would prefer a course with more teaching support.

• You have the ability, motivation and maturity to study at degree level, but do not have the qualifications usually required to enter a degree programme.

• You intend to take a degree programme, but would like to gain a recognized qualification after one year.

Diploma is an entry route to degree study If you do not have traditional ‘A’ levels or their equivalent. The Diploma in Law leads you to the LLB Degree.
